Message From The East

Brethren:

            As you know, our 200^th anniversary celebration is right around the corner.  You should have received an announcement of the event with a return RSVP card.  Please help out your anniversary committee and return the RSVP card, with your check, as soon as possible.  This way we can get a handle on the attendance in ample time and put the proper finishing touches in place in order to make this event the gala we hope it to be.

            I also want to remind you that St. John’s has a dilemma.  A wonderful dilemma but a dilemma nonetheless.  And that problem is we are being inundated with new petitions for membership. What a fantastic problem to have!  While most lodges are experiencing a severe decline in their membership roles, St. John’s appears to be growing. But this increase in membership is causing some growing pains.  With the large influx of new members, we need as much help and support as possible in the conferring of degrees.   If you have not come out to an extra meeting in some time, please do so.  It is great to see our degree team in action.  If you have come out but haven’t participated, join in.  To help bring a brother into the craft is always an exciting and gratifying experience.

            I specifically want to thank our Senior Warden and Secretary for their diligent efforts in scheduling the degree work and putting the teams on the floor.  I also want to thank all the recommenders for their efforts in helping our lodge grow and strengthen.  Without the help of such dedicated and caring, brothers St. John’s would not be the great lodge that it is!
